Mariners Finish 14th (15) At Connecticut Invitational

The United States Merchant Marine Academy Women's Cross Country finished strong at the Connecticut College Invitational this Saturday. The team took 14th place out of 15 teams. Freshman Gretchen Holoubek led the way for the women running the 6k with a time of 25:29 and finished 67th overall.
Senior MaryRose Rooney followed close behind Holoubek, running a time of 26:38. Junior Christina Fernandez-O'Toole followed with a time of 26:56, while Senior Christina Jaszlics finished with a time of 27:03. Renee Hogan scored fifth on the team with a season best 28:03.
“The women’s team ran very well, improving their on their standings in the conference,” said Head Coach CDR Donald Wilburn.
The Mariners return to action on Friday, October 2nd when they travel to the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, PA.
