The United States Merchant Marine Academy Women's Cross Country team finished 15th overall out of thirty teams as they competed at the Dickinson Invitational Saturday. Senior MaryRose Rooney led the way for the Mariners.
Rooney led the way in the 4K in 17:47, followed by junior Cristina Fernandez-O'Toole in 18:14 and sophomore Renee Hogan in 18:55. In the 6K, freshman Gretchen Holoubek ran 26:28 in her first race at that distance. Holoubek was followed by Christine Jaszlics in 27:28 and Lindsay Watkins in 30:14.
"The team looked powerful after challenging the hilly course today and are looking forward to next week's race along the water of Connecticut College’s course," said Head Coach CDR Donald Wilburn.
USMMA returns to action on Saturday, September 26th, when they travel to Connecticut College.
