Men’s Track and Field Competes At Coast Guard Invite

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s track and field team competed at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Invitational on Saturday, April 4th. Dan Feeney led the Mariners on the track side finishing ninth overall in the 800m while the 4x400m relay team also took ninth.
Feeney took ninth in the 800m with a time of 2:02.34. The 4x400m relay team that consisted of Feeney, Kevin Young, Swan and Justin Harriot came in ninth overall. Young took 10th in the 800m with a time of 2:02. 47. Kevin Orioke ran a 12.36 in the 100m for his Mariner debut. Dan Gordon dropped .3 second off of his 100m time (12.12). Tom Fossa was able to drop 32 second from his 5000m time with a time of 16:27. Ross Whelpley finished with a time of 16:57 in the 5000m to drop 12 second from his time.
The Mariners return to action on Saturday, April 11th when they travel to the FDU-Knight Invitational.
