The United States Merchant Marine Academy men's cross country team placed 5th out of 8 teams this afternoon at the Landmark Conference Championships at Catholic University in Washington, D.C.  Freshman Logan Torigson led the Mariners and placed 15th overall in the 6K in 28:28.

 

Senior Gary Kuehn followed Torgison in 28:57 for 20th overall, while Sophomoe Tom Fossa came in 27th overall with a time of 29:28. Sophomore Ross Whelpley came in with a time of 29:46 to place 32nd overall. Freshman Dan Baxter came in right behind Whelpley in 29:48. Rounding out the Mariners were Juniors Rob Edsall in 29:51, and Warren Tucker with a time of 29:52.

 

The Mariners return to action on Saturday, November 7th when they compete in the ECAC Championships.
