Women’s Track & Field Sees Addition Records Continue to Fall at Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – This weekend, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women’s outdoor track and field team traveled to Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa. to compete in the 2011 Landmark Conference Championships. While the Mariners finished sixth overall, their improvements from a year ago were apparent with great performances around.

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – On Saturday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women’s track and field team closed out its indoor season with a sixth-place finish at the 2011 Landmark Conference Championships at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa. The Mariners showed significant improvement from a season ago as they increased their point output from just a single point last year to 11 this season.

CARLISLE, Pa. – On Saturday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women’s indoor track and field team competed in the DuCharme Relays at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa. Keeping up with this season’s impressive meets, the Mariners broke another pair of Academy records at Dickinson this weekend.

Women’s Track & Field Breaks 3 Academy Records at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – On Sunday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women’s indoor track and field team competed at the Susquehanna University Indoor Invitational in Selinsgrove, Pa. The highlight on the women’s side was sophomore Tara Mulligan (Monroe, N.Y.) as she led the way with an Academy record and personal best distance in the weight throw. She placed seventh overall with a mark of 11.26 meters.
