Men’s 4 x 100 Meter Relay Team Qualifies for ECAC Outdoor Championships
SWARTHMORE, Pa. – On Saturday, the United States Merchant Marine Academy men’s outdoor track & field squad competed at a very high caliber “Last Chance Meet” at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pa. The meet consisted of athletes from Divisions I, II and III trying to hit qualifying marks for the ECAC and national championships. Various post-collegiate athletes also took part in the competition.

With 16-Point Improvement From Last Year, Men’s Track & Field Matches Best-Ever Finish at Landmark Outdoor Championships
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – This weekend, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s outdoor track and field team traveled to Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa. to compete in the 2011 Landmark Conference Championships. With a 16-point improvement from last year, the USMMA men’s track & field team matched its best ever finish at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships by placing fourth overall.

Men’s Track & Field Start the Outdoor Season with Strong Showing at Army
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s track and field team began their 2011 outdoor season with a strong showing in the non-scoring event at West Point. In spite of some very brutal conditions that affected the times for all the participants involved.

Men’s 4 x 200 Meter Relay Team Competes at ECAC Indoor Champs.
NEW YORK, N.Y. – On Saturday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s indoor track and field squad sent its 4 x 200 meter relay team of senior Brandon Barrett (Kingwood, Texas), junior Hunter Karass (Marlboro, N.J.), and rookies Tyler McDaniel (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Mickel McGann (Ocala, Fla.) to the ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Armory in New York City. The foursome finished 21st overall with a clocking of 1:33.21.

Men’s Track & Field Notch Program's Best-Ever Landmark Finish
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – On Saturday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s indoor track and field team finished in third place at the 2011 Landmark Conference Championships at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa., which marks the program’s best finish ever. The Mariners accumulated a total of 67 points at the meet.

CARLISLE, Pa. – On Saturday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s indoor track and field team competed in the DuCharme Relays at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa. The squad established new Academy records in two events at Dickinson.
