Daniel F. Mehleisen joined the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy's football program as the Defensive Coordinator in February 2010. Mehleisen was the Defensive Backfield football coach for Susquehanna University for three years. During that span, he also was tabbed as the program's Video Editing Coordinator.

For one season at Susquehanna, he also served as the Assistant Baseball Coach, primarily dealing with the catchers and outfielders. Moreover, he was an assistant coach for the baseball squad at Union College for one year.

Mehleisen graduated magna cum laude from Union College in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. He minored in History. While at Union, he was a four-year letter winner for the football and baseball teams. In 2003, Mehleisen was elected captain for the football squad, while earning that honor on the baseball team in 2004.

Mehleisen is a native of Latham, N.Y. and currently pursuing a MSED in Education at Bucknell University. He currently resides in Floral Park, N.Y.
